Learn to use a roller board

The icons below explain step-by-step how to use Tetcon’s Body Board.

Step 1.

Drive the stretcher sideways against the bed and implement all safety measures.

Before getting started, check the brakes on the bed and the stretcher.

Step 2

Place the roll board next to the patient. Make sure there is no difference in height between the bed and stretcher, or provide a slightly sloping height difference in the direction of the transfer. Move with gravity.

Step 3

Communicate with the patient and tell them what you are going to do. Roll the patient towards you. Place the rolling board next to the patient (in the back). Turn the patient back to lying face up. You can now move the patient.

Step 4

Stand in a stride position. Place extended arms and full hands on the patient. You now start pushing. Use your body weight (this is where the force comes from). In this way, push the patient bit by bit to the other side.

Step 5

You now tilt the patient towards you. Take away the rolling board.

Step 6

Now, roll the patient back. The transfer is complete!
